    Description

Beautiful vintage silvery-gold tone Championship Mare framed horse trophy designed by Gladys Edwards Brown, a noted equestrian artist and an expert on Arabians. Her mark is on the stomach of the horse.
The main plaque reads "Grand Champion Mare, Rifle Colorado, Donor-1960-AQHA". The top plaque reads "Melody Joan". "Alta Wadlow" is signed in black on the bottom of the frame.  Ms. Wadlow was a spirit of the West, a genuine cowgirl and a great horse rancher in CO.
The horse trophy & frame are in almost mint condition.   There is a small "irregularity" on the surface of the horse's left shoulder (see last photo) and three small bent nails partially replace original screws which hold the statue to the frame.  See all photos as part of the condition and description.
